Cross platform iPod
Here's an interesting one that I need help with.
I just bought and received the new 30 GB iPod. I have a G4 tower at home running OS 10.2.6. BUT, I'm a dentist, and the iPod will be for my patients to use while having their dentistry done at the office, which (unfortunately, and because there is really no other option) is PC. All of my digital music now resides on my Mac. I have sync'd my iPod to my Mac, and have installed Musicmatch Jukebox on the Dell laptop that I have.
I'd like to be able to transfer the music that is on the iPod onto the PC, and be able to sync the iPod to both the PC and Mac.
What is the easiest or best way to do this, and what software should I use?
If I can't do this as an ongoing thing, can I at least transfer my music ONCE to the Dell and then add music via the Dell thereafter?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Im not sure, cause I've never done it myself. But I believe you can do all this using macOpener for Ephpod. So you leave your iPod as Mac format, then you can load mp3s from home using iTunes, as well as in the surgery using Ephpod with macopener.

I a little dubious about the previous suggestion. As I understand things the database of tracks built by ephpod is unique to ephpod. When you synced with one itunes you would kill the existing songs and vice-versa.
Or so I had understood things.
Perhaps someone else with a Mac can clarify the point.

I use iTunes 4 at my work on a G3 Tower Mac, I can upload songs to my iPod using iTunes and then use ephPod at home on my WinXP PC to retrieve them. The database is still intact and nothing is changed.
I currently use macOpener (trial version) on my WinXP PC and so ephpod does not alter the iPod's database. Any music I upload using iTunes is viewable using ephPod with MacOpener installed.
So in anwser to your original question...

I don't see a problem either way. As long as macOpener is installed on your PC everything should be problem free.
I hope this helps. :)

So, just to confirm, Ephpod allows a two-way transfer of music to your PC w/o altering the iPod DB. Is that correct?
