Ongoing EphPod oddities
A couple of weeks ago I posted about problems I was having with composer tags, and no-one seemed to be able to resolve that issue. I still have no composer tags visible on the iPod, despite tagging the composer field in id3tagit (the tags are correctly showing up in Winamp and WMP9).
This weekend I've had some further problems with EphPod. I've been re-tagging some files, to change genre. I've deleted the original badly tagged files from the iPod, then uploaded the newly tagged files back to the pod. However, they still show up with the old genre tag.
Also, some files are failing to show up at all on the iPod - including files which I'd previously had on there, deleted, and re-uploaded with new tags.
This is all very strange. Now before someone tells me to go out and get MC9, I would like to resolve this in EphPod if possible. For the record, I've deleted all id3v1 tags, and been careful to delete the old files from the pod first.
I wonder if it would help to delete the files in question, quit ephpod, dismount the ipod, then start again? Is ephpod really deleting my files when it says it is? Does it need to flush them by quitting first perhaps?

I' a new user......
not a solution sorry....but I had a similar problem with files not showing up in IPOD and EPHOD....
don't know whether it's related to IDS tags or not but I did a synch and it kept missing off loads of various songs from loads of different albums. You know like one song here, one song there, three songs of here etc etc. Even though they were defo in the synch file that I had highlighted and pointed EPHOD to and they had all been super tagged correctly with the right ID's. Ruddy Annoying. Eventually tried it with XPlay and they all synched no problem first time.
I am now using MMJB solely for tagging tracks (it seems really easy to me! I hate everything else about it though and its so slowwwwwww!) and XPlay for dragging and dropping. Seems the easiest way cause I reckon EPHOD has got a few bugs that will annoy the ***** out of me!

I tend to manage all my tagging in MMJB and sync with vPod these days, occasionally using EPHPod for simple things like wiping the pod. EPHPod just crashed too often for my liking and it was forever messing about with Playlists.
It might be worth wiping your pod of music and reuploading it all in one clean upload. I do this every once in a while if I have been making a lot of changes because I never had much confidence in files being deleted properly from the pod. It takes 30 minutes or so for the 15 gigs on my Ipod but seems to be worthwhile.

Thanks. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I have already tried that though to fix the composer tag issue, without results.
I think I will give MC9 a trial run. Beginning to get a little frustrated with EphPod's shortcomings, although it's still pretty amazing for freeware.
