How to back up ipod ?

Hi, and thanks in advance for any help. I've been using Ephpod to transfer and name all the files I want on my Ipod (15GB). Is there a way to back up this information in case it's lost on the Ipod. On my main computer I keep my mp3 files in a couple of different folders, and I didn't transfer all songs to the Ipod. Plus I had to do alot of changing using ephpod to clean up the tags, and get albums etc. listed the way I want them.

hi

when you select the part "configuration" on ephpod, you can see on the second tab the Name-configuration,on which te songs are backupped.

Here is what i have typed in: %L\%n - %t.mp3

with this entry, a folder is crated for each album, and the song is named!

Try it! It works fine when I backup my Pod!

Just select all song in the View"Songs" by CRTL+A and then copy it with CTRL+ALT+C!

Now it starts!

ipodman, can you please explain how to backup a little more please...ive been able to set up my unit and i know how to basicaly work it...but im a little thrown off by the backup...when i ctrl-a it pops up a save box...where should i save it to? and am i supposed to "select all" in the song view "songs" in ephpod first by highlighting all songs? also, for the naming is confusing with all the % signs...if i were to lose my ephpod info and have to backup, how do i do that?

hi,

you connect your pod via Firewire. then it shows up and you can start ephpod.

then you select the view, in which you see "all" the songs on your ipod.
I mean not the view playlist, not recent, I mean the view "all" songs. here is a screenshot: http://www.ephpod.com/help/hs50.htm

here you click into the main window!
Now select all songs by using CRTL+A
Now all songs are selected.

Then you use the shortcut CTRL+ALT+C to copy the songs of your Pod to the harddisk.

make sure you configured the mode how the name and folder is created. how to do that, i explained in my message before.

So that should work fine.

So long!
