Ipod Full?

Using music match with my 10GM ipod. Constantly getting "operation stopped. ipod is full" when I sync. Each time I sync afterward, I get just a few more songs added.

Reset to fatory stardards to finally get the complete list on the ipod.
Now it's back to say ipod is full (only 5g's are being used).

Also memory display on Ipod (settings-about) hasn't moved from 8.2 remaining.

any suggestions?

I was having that problem -- then MMJB tech support suggested I upgrade to MMJB 8.0 and re-download and install the iPod plug-in (you have to go through "Options | Add New Features" on MMJB to get to the iPod version 2 plug-in.

This worked, ONCE.

Now, the MMJB Portable Device Manager window freezes when I try to sync, though I can still manually add songs/albums. I've just contacted tech support again and will keep you posted...

OK, so here's the problem -- a CORRUPT .mp3 file.

Unfortunately, MMJB won't let you figure out which one.

Because I was having this problem with MMJB, I downloaded EphPod, and lo and behold, EphPod froze up as well. And I had a heck of a time shutting the program down (couldn't even get Task Manager to show up, had to do a cold reboot).

Then, I tried again, and noticed that the EphPod sync was stuck on the same .mp3 track.

So, I deleted that track, and voila!, the sync worked like a charm.

So, I went back to MMJB, and voila again! the sync on MMJB worked just fine too! Then I re-ripped the .mp3 in question, and voila a third time! the sync still worked properly.

Now I'll be back to using MMJB exclusively, as I like being able to rip, play and sync all from the same program.

So, the moral of this story is, if you're getting the "Operation Stopped. iPod is Full" error message in MMJB, you'll have to install EphPod in order to isolate the problem, a likely corrupt file, since MMJB doesn't have as robust a status window during the sync progress.

BTW, no thanks to MMJB Tech Support who kept suggesting I upgrade to the latest versions of their product/plug-ins.
