iTunes for Windows

I get this sneaky suspicion that iTune for windows will only compatible with the new iPods.... Just a thought, but I hope apple has enough sense to make it compatible with all iPods. If not, they may be loosing a customer. Don't get me wrong, I love my pod, but I'm really getting tired of all the dropped support for the older iPods.

That would be an absolutely stupid move on Apple's part.

No doubt in my mind that it'll be compatible with all generations of iPod. In fact, I don't see how they could even restrict usage to a particular iPod generation.

they'll be making iTunes access the iTunes music store and gen 1& 2's have aac support...

iTunes, if it comes to Windows, will support all iPod's and all Pc's

If they do that, than I'm flying to California to personally get an audience with Steve Jobs. I believe that this would be one of the dumbest things he could possibly do, and personally Apple should release iTunes to every Windows user for free. This would #### Bill Gates off to no end, and would be a big coup for Apple and the Apple Music Store.

Just my assumption, but I doubt they would have released v1.3 for Windows if they weren't planning on offering iTunes to everyone, 1st-2nd-3rd gen.

Anyone have any information (real or otherwise :) about when a Windows version of iTunes/Music Store is coming out?

I have one way to determine. Check your Playcounts file (it's in ipod_control\iTunes). See if it's getting updated and stays that way. Just check the file size. If it's zero bytes that means they still are wiping it out.

With the 2.0.1 update this file started getting updated like it does on iTunes. The suspicion behind why they did this was to support iTunes for Windows.

See if your Playcounts file isn't zero bytes when connected to your PC. That might tell us something...

With this update, it might mean that iTunes for Windows is "COMING SOON"!!!!!

Yeah, but one thing Todd, I've used iTunes and I've found that after MC9 it's limiting. Especially in terms of the smartlists you can make. So, as long as MC9 gets playcounts and ratings added (and it should be very soon) then I'll be a happy camper... :D

Yeah, I would just like to have it for the music store. That and just to see what it is like to run Apple software on a Windows PC

You've got QuickTime, right? Apple software on a PC... [/smartaleck]

I don't think QuickTime is a great example.

OK, how about that great iPod Manager Software? Er, wait, nevermind.

Oh, I already said that ;) I'm making this thread go in circles.
