Corrupted files on new gen iPod / ephpod

Using a friend's new generation iPod with ephpod on a windows 2000 operating system. transferred some new songs, then tried to play an existing song via ephpod and winamp. computer froze and had to restart - consequently although 3.7gb are still showing on iPod (including non .mp3 and .wav files), all music files have "disappeared". when i try and open ephpod again, nothing is visible - although i can view some of these files if i select view hidden files on the HD, but in ephpod it says there are corrupted files and i cannot see these on the iPod itself either. sorry if there are already posts on this, but does anyone have any suggestions? do i need to start all over again or is it possible to somehow extract these files, copy them from the iPod HD and put them back / restore database?

Under the tools menu option you can try to Probe iPod for Lost Music and see if it comes up with anything, then try to rebuild the database, which is also under the tools menu.

If those two don't work then you will probably have to start over.

Platform Specific, and software specific, moving to the Ephpod forum.

Hatsa, please pay attention to the descriptions of each board. I know your brand new (welcome to the 'lounge btw), but it really helps w/the organization to post in the correct forum.
