2 ipods, different software... help please

i'm getting a new ipod and want to continue to use my old 5 mg.... since both you different software, what is best way to run both on a mac.... can i have one sync auto (new one) and other only manually?

So long as you're running OS 10.2 and iTunes 4, you should be fine no matter how you decide to sync.

so just install new ipod software v2.0 and leave old v1.x in applications (where it is) and mac will recognize which ipod it is and which software to use?.... and thanks for the help...

You don't need to install the iPod Software Updater unless you're wanting to update/restore an iPod. But to be certain that you don't overwrite the old Software Updater with the new one, just move the old one to a folder outside the Applications folder and then install the new one.
