Why doesnt the Cover Art follow the track in MC9.1?

Hi y'all,

Quick question:

It seems that in MC9.1 the cover art when displayed in the lower left hand corner does not change when the track changes.

Why is this? Anyone else with the same problem? Is there a solution or is it a bug?

Thanks in advance.

Never noticed that as I don't really play MC9 on my computer. Hm...seems like that would be a bug.

I'd report it over on the JRiver Forums in the MC9 section.

Adam, I about split a side when I read this. Us iPod folk don't care much for how it works on the PC, eh? Just so long as it keeps our pods happy!

I'm afeared that I can't help much here... back when I had my good library, I always put the cover art in manually, folder.jpg-style, prior to importing... MC would see it and use it for everything in the folder.

LMAO...I don't feel so guilty now for ignoring the album cover art...

BTW, the ripper in digital secure is ripping much, much faster now--I even double checked to make sure it wasn't in digital burst...

hehe, don't get me wrong guys, I do use it from time to time to play tunes. :D

Mostly just to organize stuff. Funny thing is, I just undertook the little project of adding cover art to all my tunes. I love the "Artist Info" deal where it goes directly to Allmusic Guide so you can grab album art that it can't find in YADB. Nice touch to be able to browse from w/in MC9.

Chris,

Are you implying that MC9.1 rips faster with our external MC9/Lame encoder (3.92) than MC9 does? Or are you using MC9.1's Lame encoder?

If 9.1 rips faster than 9.0 on the same settings that we share, then it sounds like another reason to switch to 9.1.

For those of us who do use MC to listen to our music, are there any other playback drawbacks we should know about? I can live with the cover art bugs for now. What about more important playaback bugs?

No no no...They use the same ripper, so they'll rip the same--it applies to 9.0 and 9.1. It was just a general observation that the ripper is singinificantly faster than it was in the past. Ripping with an external encoder will always be slower than ripping using the MC9 LAME encoder; when you use an external encoder, MC completes the rip, then encodes, then does the next rip, then encodes...

Whereas ripping with the MC9 LAME encoder, it will rip and encode simultaneously, so it's a bit faster. But I am willing to live with the slower file conversion to use LAME 3.90.2....

I have not seen any playback bugs, other than the cover art issue, which I don't use much anyway...I do like the artist info option though--not for the art, but to read more about a particular artist and check out the discography--I just recently found this feature, and really like it...
