ID3 Tagit Problems
I spend the whole 2 days tagging my mp3s using ID3 Tagit and when I launch Ephpoh, most of the tags are not shown in Ephpod! I am very ####ed as it shows I've wasted my time tagging. FYI, i tagged the id3v2 tags and now i've to retag all the mp3s using ephpog instead. Any ideas why Ephpod cant read id3 tagit's tags?

Try the following:
In ID3Tagit, clear all the id3v1 tags.
In Ephpod configuration, check the "try to read id3v2 tags" box.
Good luck.

Also make sure to save changes (Ctrl+S), in ID3 TagIt.
There are good tools in ID3 TagIt for removing all v1 tags on selected files, and for making v2 tags of v1. If it's a v1/v2 confusion thing. :p

Hey guys, I figured out what went wrong. Ephpod does not update the ipod of the tag changes at all...hence nothing was changed. All i did was to clear the ipod clean and reupload all the tunes and presto! Anyway, kinda sucky that ephpod doesnt update the tags.

Hm?
You mean if you have certain songs on the iPod, change the tags in ID3-TagIt and re-upload those songs, the tags in Ephpod won't be updated?

IF u mean clicking sync in Ephpod, yes, it wont update the changes to the tags in ipod. U have to manually delete the song from ipod and reupload the edited song again. Stupid isnt it?

xPlay does this for genre tags, but ephPOD seems to do it for all of the tags. xPlay is at least smart enough to know that you are changing the artist and title characters not ephPOD Yes, this is extremely stupid, and I had the same problem yesterday.

Bill, here's my ad :D
MC9 does support updating of all tags w/out having to reupload. Just thought I'd throw that out to anyone in case this is really bugging people.
I do a lot of genre fine-tuning and smartlist updating so this is crucial to me.
The fact that ephpod doesn't do this has been an issue for over a year now, I don't believe there is an easy solution for ephpod because it doesn't keep a database library of your tunes, so it'd have to check every song and every tag which would impair performance something fierce. I know that I asked for it from Joe back in version 2.58
