Problem copying music to Ipod. Any Ideas?

Hi all

I've just connected my ipod to a new computer with musicmatch 7.5 from the ipod cd. I've created some mp3s locally and added it to my library. But when I try to drag and drop into my ipod via the Portable Device Window, nothing happens! It just says 'Complete' and the free space is just the same. I can't seem to copy the music to the ipod. I've checked the firwire connection and it seems fine. I can copy files to and from the ipod in diskmode without any problems.

Any ideas why this is happening? I just want to add a few albums from this computer onto my existing collection of songs on my 30gig ipod.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Regards

Steve

Don't know if this will help, but i had this exact same problem. In my case it turned out that allthough i had used musicmatch to rip the cd, and the cd showed up in My Library, when i doubleclicked on a song, it didnt play in MM. (got some error message)

I deleted the cd from the MM My library, and then added it again. Now the cd would play back in MM, and i could trasfer it to the ipod no problem.

This exact problem is ocurring to me. I see the iPod in my portable devices list, but whenever I sync or drag a song, it says "Operation Complete" but the ipod still has its remaining space the same as before. In my case, it's completely empty because I have not transferred any songs.

I'm using iPod 2, Win XP,

I had MMJB 7.5 that came with the iPod, and had the same problem. I upgraded to 8.1 and reinstalled the MM iPod plugin and the same problem persists. Anyone have any clues?

Actually, it seems like some sort of plugin error. MusicMatch tech support instructed me to uninstall and reinstall MMJB and the iPod plugin, however during the iPod plugin installation portion, it comes up with this message:

http://zeno.homeunix.org/feature_transfer_error.jpg

I retried it after deleting all the files in C:\Program Files\MusicMatch as well as getting rid of the registry keys under HKLM\Software\MusicMatch but that error still comes up.

MusicMatch is the worst piece of #### I've ever seen. I'm trying to get my girlfriend to use ephpod, but she wants to use MusicMatch Jukebox.

Actually, the error message above was not related to reinstallation of the plugin.

The plugin install actually attempts to reinstall the iPod system updater 2.0.1. So it fails to do that upon detecting that it already has it installed.

I uninstalled the iPod system updater 2.0.1, and reinstalled the plugin and all proceeded without any error messages.

However, MusicMatch JukeBox still does not copy songs onto the iPod.

I've tried every combination of reinstalling uninstalling with MusicMatch 7.5Apple, 8.1 with the plugin, etc. but with no success.

I can't believe Apple partnered with musicmatch, it really brings down Apple's quality reputation.

Thank god for iTunes.

Bye bye MusicMatch from my hard drive FOREVER.
