Podmaster
Afternoon all,
I have a quick question. I have read that Podmaster is a good utility to use in order to copy tracks on the ipod onto the hard drive. However, i am having problems with it and was wondering whether anyone knew of something simple i was doing wrong?
I have downloaded the program and run it (with my 15gb docking pod connected) and it recognises my pod and a box comes up that says "Podmaster is probing your pod...this may take a few seconds"
Unfortunatly it holds on that screen with a 'thinking' icon where the mouse pointer should be. I have been patient with it and let it run for 20 mins or so, is this usual? will it eventually finish probing?
Thanks in advance

Podmaster shouldn't take 20 minutes. I've never read anything about how well it interacts with new iPods though.
Try this AppleScript ( http://www.malcolmadams.com/itunes/scripts/scripts08.shtml#impselipodtracks); see if it works any better for you.

ahh, i didnt realise it was Gen 2 ipods only. I guess this answers the question of whether podmaster works with new ipods then! (of course it could just be me getting it wrong!?!)
That script is what i use at the moment, i just wanted to be sure i wasnt missing a trick. I do have problems with that script tho, especially if i try to transfer an album's worth (or bigger) of songs at a time.
thanx for getting back tho
