Nothing is Working Right...
Well, I finally picked up my I-pod today. After all the time I spent waiting I finally got enough money saved up and was able to get one.
However, at the moment I am a bit disturbed by the fact that nothing seems to be working quite right with the ephpod program I?ve been told is so great.
I followed all the steps listed in the post on the top of the page in order to get my I-pod transferred over to ephpod so there should be no problems there. However here are the problems that I am encountering.
The first album I wanted to put on the I-pod was Juno Reactor?s Odyssey. I put this album into the ephpod list and hit sync with I-pod. But it didn?t just sync that album, it also decided to sync another album (Radiohead ? Hail to the Thief) right along with it. I don?t understand why it would do this as that album was not listed. The only thing I can think of is that that album happens to be in the Music Match library. Perturbing, to say the least.
Worse yet was that fact that it split the album into two parts due to a small spelling error in some of the tags the ephpod split it into two albums. I fixed the tags of the offending albums and tried to re-sync everything. However, when I did this, it just reverted back to the way it was before, with the album split in two! Any help on this issue would be fantastic.
I also noticed that even when I exited ephpod, it still read that it was unsafe to remove my I-pod from its dock. Any ideas why?
Finally, I turned off the computer and turned it back on. Music match popped up and asked if I would like to revert the ipod (Which it now calls ephpod) I said no. However when I go into ephpod now, all I get is error messages.
I know I?ve asked a lot of questions, but these issues are very serious to me, as they are making it impossible to enjoy my new toy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It will sync everything in the sync directory. That's what sync does. It compares the folder on the computer to the iPod, and transfers everything that is not on the iPod over. Next time just do a manual transfer.

Yep, sure would. Welcome to the fun world of getting all of your id3 tags correct.

Not sure what tags were wrong, but sometimes you just have to delete the songs off of the ipod and re-sync. Alse delete all id3v1 tags as they aren't necessary and could mess you up, if both tags aren't the same.

ephPOD doesn't shutdown the iPod, so you have to mannually do it, but unplugging the device through Windows.

Remove musicmatch, at least. I don't have a Windows iPod, well, it is Windows, but I bought it before Musicmatch for the iPod was released, and you don't really need anything that comes on that disk. I would get rid of it all, then reboot the computer, plug the iPod back in, and start ephpod. Hopefully you'll be up and running again, but you may have to rebuild the database, or wipe the iPod clean.

No offense, but lighten up, it will be O.K., but back in the dinosaur days when I was using my v1 Mac iPod on Windows it was a lot harder than it was today. I know you didn't know this but your main problem is being caused by Musicmatch, so please get rid of it.
I will be on for several more hours, so do the things listed, and if you still aren't working we can get on AIM for a troubleshooting session.
So, take a deep breath and relax. It will be ok. And just to let you know it took me three days to get my iPod working. I kept destroying the firmware and had to take it back to the Applestore to get it formatted. I finally told them what I was doing and they couldn't believe I was trying to use it on Windows.
