Windows or Mac Format for "Old" IPod?

First off, I happened on this site after seeing it referenced on Apple's site. Lotsa good info here!

I purchased an "old" 10 Gig WinIPod about 3 weeks before the new ones were announced. Kept having disconnect problems - finally figured out it was the firewire card (Adaptec DuoConnect). Switched to a Belkin 3port Firewire and no problems.

O.K. Quick question - is there any advantage to reformatting my Win IPod to use the Mac file structure, rather than FAT32?

No, it's more of an advantage to keep it as a Wipod, since you can use it as a portable drive. I have a 10gb v1 iPod and it has been a Wipod for awhile and I will probably never go back to HFS.

BTW, if you format it has HFS then how are you going to use it? You will either have to use xPlay or ephPod after you buy the MacOpener license.

Better to keep it as a WiPod, IMO.
