is there a program that mass strips the ID3-v1 tags out of my mp3s?

i'm having a genre problem on my ipod. i have always tagged my files with ID3-v1 and v2 tags, and i like to fine tune the genre (Indie Rock instead of Alternative or just Rock). but not all of the genres i use are allowed in ID3-v1 for some reason, so they don't show up on the ipod, even if i have the genre listed in the ID3-v2 tag. so, does anybody know of a program that can strip all of the ID3-v1 tags out of all my mp3s at once, while still keeping the ID3-v2 tags intact?

Yeah, get id3-tagit (www.id3-tagit.de). Highlight all your songs and click the "Delete id3v1 tags" button. It'll do it right quick. The id3v1 standard only allowed for a preset list of Genre's. V2 introduced free-text genres which are much better.Get id3-tagit and you'll be happy. It's free.

'Tag' better. Reason: it also knows how to deal with ogg vorbis tags. It is a bit more unix-oid though, you have to download a 'commandline' binary, and a graphical front-end, but in the end it does its job, does it well, and is very flexible.

MP3 tag studio 3.05 also does it amongst many other things. It's adware :( but not in the normal sense (it displays a small turtlebeach ad above the program, not install something).Stefan
