iPod plugin for MMJB 8 released!
And guess what? After all the time they spent on it, it still doesn't do anything EphPod doesn't do better. Were you hoping for AAC support in the new plugin? Better luck next time, sucker... HAHAHAHA! Seriously, if you want it - here is where to get it:

It works.
Just make sure you enable "disk mode" in the settings, otherwise it tends to disconnect your iPod everytime you close MMJB.

I have the MMJB 7.5 plus and will have to pay for version 8 which it says I need to do in order to download the plug in. Is there any difference? Does it now include the ratings from the IPOD? Everything seems to be working fine for now. I don't do a lot of syncing or adding playlists.

DO NOT USE MMJB 8.0 with the 2.0.1, it will not work.....I know it's hard to believe the MM is screwed up, but after i noticed my ipod having multiple entires i was told to (by apple) to download 8.0, well after i did that i wasn't able to sync...the F*%kers at MM said that 8.0 was not compatible with the latest update from apple....

I'd be interested in hearing of any success stories using this new plugin and the free version of MMJB v8 under Windows98SE.
I got a 2nd generation 10G Mac iPod when they were being discounted at Target. Since I wanted to use the iPod on my Win98 box, I was at first disappointed that the version of MMJB available for download was different from what was included in the Windows version of the iPod and that I had no valid key to upgrade it to the plus version.
My disappointment was compounded by the fact that the iPod plugin refused to install on my box (since Win98se was unsupported).
I eventually started using ephpod, for downloading to the iPod, but as I had no other ripping software used MMJB v7 for ripping/tagging.
MMJB v7 was passable, but occasionally would get into the annoying habit of running extremely slowly (with the hard drive activity light blinking every second or so. This seemed to happen only with some disks, but wasn't 100% repeatable (but enough to be really annoying. I just upgraded to MMJB v8 in hopes that it wouldn't have the same problem. So far, so good, but I'll withhold a final verdict on v8 for now.
