Software to delete songs off iPod?

Is there any software out there that will delete songs off an iPod? If so, where can I find it at?

Are you wanting to delete selected songs or every song all at once?

Just selected songs

Gotcha. iTunes will do that, definitely. You'll have to have your iPod set to be manually updated. You can delete songs in a number of ways - by selecting it individually, by batch-selecting (click on the first song in a list, hold down shift and click on the last song in a list), by selecting an artist, album or genre in "Browse" mode.

But what you suggested doesn't actually remove the songs from the iPod, does it? I've got my iPod set to manually update and I deleted a few playlists but the used/free space remains the same. How do I "trash" the songs to free up more space?

Select the songs in the main browser window and hit the "delete" key.

That's becuase you just deleted the playlists, not the songs themselves.

Like John suggests above, select the songs from the Browse list in iTunes when your iPod itself is selected in the Sources list, not when playlists listed under your iPod are selected. Then press the Delete key on you Mac.

For browsing by Artist / Album, click the "Browse" button at the upper right corner of the iTunes window. That way, you can easily select entire albums or even entire artists for deletion.
