Ipod Freezes @ Apple Logo After 2.0.1 Update

Here is what I did...

I have xplay 1.3 running in the background.
I installed the apple 2.0.1 updater.
Reboot
Insert Ipod
Ipod detected by XPLAY
Ipod detected by the updater
Proceed to update ipod
Pregress bar stopped at 9/10 way.
Ipod rebooted itself while it stays connected.
Ipod finished the pregress bar and rebooted again
Now ipod is forever stuck at the Apple Logo. I have tried pressing "Menu + Play/Pause" to reset the ipod and it is still stuck at the Apple screen.

Now my updater and my XPLAY won't recognize my IPOD. Any idea guys?

Have you tried a Reset while connected to the AC Adaptor?

I have done that multiple times and it didn't work. I ended up formatting the entire drive using the procedure outlined in Apple's website...strange stuff.
