Duplicate tracks on iPod

If I try to add a track through "Add directory", to add an album to the iPod, then Add Playlist and the .m3u file contains the track I've already added, the track ends up on the iPod twice!

I look at the album on the iPod and the tracks also in playlists are duplicated.

What am I doing wrong? There must be a way to use Ephpod that I'm not following.

I have a sync folder set up, and all the mp3 and m3u files are in it.

(I also noticed that I get duplicate files with the Sync button - it will re-upload tracks already on the iPod - why?)

What am I doing wrong?

# 1 Re: Duplicate tracks on iPod
To fix the problem, I wiped my iPod clean, then synced. The m3u lists all got to the iPod intact with no duplicate songs.

I'd done the wipe-and-upload-everything routine before, and ended up with dupes. I don't know how - my guess is that I'm using two PCs, one iPod.

It works fine if I create a new .m3u file in WinAmp that contains songs already in iPod - this is just a new mix.
Then back to Ephpod, hit "Sync Folders" again, and it works, no dupes.

Since I can't make the duplicates happen again from one PC, it must be the double-PC issue that's confusing Ephpod.

Actually, I have the problem with duplicate tracks, too. I came here looking for an answer to the problem. I only use one iPod and one computer, though. Anybody else have suggestions?
