Verifying/Choosing alternate YADB entry.

Sometimes the YADB database comes up with more than one entry for a CD. I just had one that had about 5 different entries, I believe 3 of which looked exactly the same in the window. Is there a way of seeing how the various entries differ without just choosing one at random -- i.e. is there way of seeing all the other information for each entry before selecting it?

After I make a selection, is there any way of choosing one of the OTHER ones at this point? I tried selecting "Look up track info from YADB," but it always comes back with something to the effect of "0 of 17 files found" and nothing changes. I no longer get a choice of multiple entries. There must be a way of doing this.

Thanks for any information on this,

Larry

That is a VERY good question--I've noticed that myself, but I've been unable to find a way to view all the entries--it would be nice to be able to "preview" the multiple entries, and then choose the one that's most appropriate...Maybe Kurt or Adam knows a way to do this..

This one might be worth posting over at Jriver if you get a chance...

I posted the question on the JRiver forum last night but haven't received a response yet.

Given the results I'm getting, I'm confused how you're supposed to decide on the right album choice when inserting a CD. Several CD's I tried came up with more than one choice that had identical artist/album info, so there was no way of knowing which one to use. There needs to be a way of looking at ALL the data before choosing, or at LEAST an option of selecting a different one after the first selection has already been made.

What does the "lookup on YADB" selection do? It always says it comes up with "0" albums even on songs that were in the database when I first put in the CD.

What version are you using?

Usually when I see several selections, I pick one, and if I don't like it then I can right click on the CD and say "update from database" or something like that and the selectios pop up again and I choose a different one until I get one I like or I think is correct...

I actually figured out that you can use the "update from database" function as long as you have the CD in the drive and haven't ripped it yet. I was trying to "update" the mp3's themselves, which apparently you can't do. The Update from Database function does work to let you check the listings and choose another.

Thanks,

Larry
