Ephpod without ipod?

Should I be able to run ephpod without an ipod? I've taken my ipod back as it was so useless, but became a big fan of ephpod for making playlists etc.

Trouble is when i start ephpod now it just looks for its old mate who is now right up apples rear end where i hope it festers.

:p

No you cannot use ephpod without an iPod. What ephpod does is it shows what is on your iPod. When it makes playlists it makes them right on the iPod. It's pretty much what Windows is to your computer.

er...when I was using it it displayed what was on my desktop hard drive, not the ipod.

Nope, sorry, Timmy's right. Ephod has no access to your PC, except when you select upload songs, upload directory or upload playlists.

What you're seeing in the bottom portion of the screen (all the songs) are what's on your iPod, not what's on your PC.

Did you hit the sync button or the add songs button?

Must have been add song I guess. Thing is when I ripped stuff to my music directory on my desktop comp it appeared in ehpod, so surely ephpod was displaying the desktop hard drive content, not what was on the ipod (which was often nothing )

you may be right - its a fading memory.

Anyone know if there is anything as good as ephpod for the 60gb Zen?

ephpod was probably syncing the folders everytime you launched it and second not to be rude anything but this is not a "Zen" forum its an "ipod" forum. if you have an IPOD specific questions we'd be happy to help ya out....
