Ephod shows bad song lengths and bad encoding info...

Just got a nice new 30GB Ipod and am busily ripping my cd collection with Music Match..

Noticed a problem: Some of the tracks show lengths completely different from their actual lengths - i.e. in MM the song is correctly shown as 5:47 , the Ipod (and Ephod) shows it as 26:20. The track on the Ipod stops at the right time at least. Also, if I check the mp3's properties via Explorer the time is right. This isn't sporadic. Many of my mp3s are showing this problem.

One other thing I noticed: the songs with the wrong times listed in Ephod also show an odd encoding rate: 32kbs. Explorer shows this vbr mp3 (correctly!) as 325kbs!! I'll bet there is a parsing/buffer problem in the code somewhere.

What is Ephod doing to come up with that odd time? And what's the fix?

Thanks

Same problem here. Ephpod can't get the correct time for VBR mp3s encoded with Musicmatch.
To solve the problem you can upgrade to a newer version of Ephpod(but I think they all have this problem) or use EAC/Lame to make your mp3s. Lame will also probably give you better quality as it is more finely tuned at high bitrates that the Fraunhoffer encoder used in Musicmatch.

i hope this works
