changing playing order!

does anyone know why when I add an album to a playlist with xplay the playing order of this album is changed? It doesn't happen all the time but when it does it drives me crazy!

I have marked the album in the album list within xplay and asked it to be sent to the playlists.I've also tried marking the tracks in windows explorer but with some albums it just mixes up the playing order completely! I don't understand it! Not that it's a complete tragedy because if I want to play it in the right order I can just go to "browse albums" on the iPod but I'd still love to know why it's doing it.
Would it have something to do with the tags do you think?

now I know what you meant by sorting the window! I've now sorted it by track number with the offending al### & it helped!A bit slow I know but better late than never!

AMG, pleeaaase help! I thought the problem had been solved but it hasn't. In playlists in Xplay the LP is shown with the right playing order but when I look at it on the iPod itself it's still all mixed up! What could be causing that to happen?Like I said it's not a tragedy but it's annoying the hell out of me!

oh, that's a weird one but easily fixed. if things look right in the xplay window you then need to right-click in the window in xplay and choose something called.....Reorder Playlist - As Shown (don't choose shuffle, it will do exactly that and make a mess). xplay lets you mess around with playlists without actually changing them until you use that reorder thing. weird, but cool I spose. I don't honestly use it as I just randomly play songs on my ipod. of course, as anyone around here will tell you I'm just strange. :)

well, I'll usually be randomly playing the songs too so maybe I'm a little strange for wanting them to appear with the original order when I don't intend playing them that way but thanks for the advice, I'll try it!ziehensack9 at 2007-11-15 17:28:43 >

If things don't look right in the window to begin with switch your windows explorer *view* setting to *details*. that oughta get things looking right.
