Tagging

Unless I'm missing something, there isn't a way to tag multiple songs at once in Ephpod, not that I can see. I shift click 10 songs for example, then go to edit songs, and it only shows the first song I clicked on before highlighting the rest. So is there a way to do this, or do I have to get a separate program for tagging?

Ephpod does not tag music files on your computer, it simply changes the database of the iPod.

Use the mentioned programs in the Software Compendium ( http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2286).

I personally use ID3-TagIT and it's extremely simple to use.

Select all the songs you want to edit and hit F3 or F4 etc...

Ephpod CAN tag files, not just edit the itunes database, just check "Add id3 tag to song" and "Add id3 when editing with shortcut keys"(probably not the exact words, just look for something similar, or in the help file).
BTW this will only tag the files that are on your iPod, NOT the ones on your HD.

Have you confirmed this actually works. It didn't used to. If it does now, great.

Yeah that works. It will tag all your stuff on your computer if you then take it back off the iPod. Also, when you try to edit a field where there shouldn't be identical entries (like song name) it won't let you. Now if for some reason let's say you want to edit the artist on twenty songs, highlight them all then hit (what is it F3?) whatever button artist is and type it in. It should then name all of those twenty artist entries with whatever you typed. Don't right click to edit it because that will only edit that line. You have to use the F key method. I have 2.58 and that's how my version works.

Yes, it does work. I didn't think ephPod could do this, but saw the option and tested it, and it updated the tags.
