Still cant get EphPod to work on new iPod (15GB)
I followed all the procedures as listed on the top of the forum but no luck. The problem is simple and terminal; everything works right down to the file transfer from Ephpod to ipod but when I disconnect the media and browse through my iPod, there's nothing there.
Driver letter is fine, formatting is fine (windows) and transfers are fine. MMJB was uninstalled, I've tried version 2.58 and 2.6 of Ephpod but both have the same problem.
Any playlist I created is not shown at all and the entire database appears to be wiped out. I am left with two entries in the playlist. The first is a blank line which you can't select and the second is the 'on the go' which is naturaly empty.
When I re-install MMJB again it can create playlists and make the ipod usable but the browse album/artist/songs are totally blank. Only by reformatting and going back to MMJB can I get full functionality back. I tried EphPod again after this and after transfering one song, my entire database was gone. This song is also no where to be seen. All my Songs are properly tagged.
I've dead surprised no one else has run into this problem. It seems like a dead end for me. Any help?
Spec: iPod v2.0 firmware, 15GB. Sony VAIO 4pin firewire, WinXP.

Hm...curious.
Have you tried delete the ipod_control folder from the iPod, then starting ephpod and letting it recreate that folder?
Short of a firewire card issue, which you don't seem to have I've never seen this with ephpod.
Might want to try MC9 or Xplay to see if you get the same results.

Hey Adam,
Yes, I've tried that at least twice - same problem. It's as if the database format that ephod created is unreadable by my ipod. Any transfer = instant corruption.
Also I seem to have lost my memory stick drive which was lettered 'F'. I'm not sure if this is related to the ipod installation. Will probably reformat when I have time.

I have been having this same issue for a week or so now. I finally broke down and installed MMJB on my pc to see it it works.
I was able to format the ipod and use MMJB to place a CD on there. I is really bizzare. I just cant get Ephpod to function properly.
When ever I go to move music over it just kills the DB. You can go into the "about" screen and see that here is space taken up on the HDD of the Ipod. But when you attempt to browse by anything or pull a playlist its all just blank.
I had a thread last week called " issue after sync " i think.
Funny part was that I was able to use Ephpod 1 time to transfer files to with out ANY issue. And when I went back to move more music over it crapped everything out. I have not been able to have the transfered files show in the Ipod.
Right now I am going to fully reformat my PC that I have ephpod on, and reinstall...the lengths I will go to get ephpod working.
