Problem: How to install iPod plug-in?

Well, I was installing the iPod software last night, and couldn't get the iPod plug-in for MMJB installed, no matter what I did. I thought it would be installed automatically from the CD, from what the manual said, but nothing showed up under Attached Portable Players (not sure of exact wording, I'm at work now). When I followed the install link to the website, the link for the new iPods said "coming soon".

After a reinstall, which yielded the same results, I tried to install the plug-in for the old iPod, but that wouldn't go either, even when I closed iPod manager and stopped it and iPod Services from running through my task manager.

I eventually gave up and used EphPod, but I'm curious as to whether the plug-in is supposed to install automatically. Basically, I'd like to know if I screwed something up during the install.

Thanks for any help!

It's supposed to install automatically. You can try and get it from MMJB's site. In MMJB go to Options>Add New Features. Click on MP3 players then click on the iPod plugin...

I have an IPod 2 (brand new Father's Day gift - yippee!) - and have all my music already loaded in MMJB - but there's no Ipod 2 plug-in.

Can anyone please confirm whether the "old" plug-in works with Ipod 2??

Otherwise, how the hell do I get my music transferred?? Jeez, the IPod 2s have been around awhile, and MMJB knows it's supposed to be THE Ipod interface for Windows, right? Talk about asleep at the switch...

I'm using XP/Home. I just got my 15 GB iPod, and had experienced the same problem. The Musicmatch couldn't find my iPod. I decided to give up MusicMatch and installed ephPod. Howerer, after I completed installing ephPod and opened it, my MusicMatch worked. Funny!
