EphPod vs. iTunes?
So you've all got me curious -- what features does EphPod have that iTunes does not?
# 1 Re: EphPod vs. iTunes?
It runs on a PC.....
Also it can download the weather and the news on your iPod, but apart from that I think iTunes can do pretty much everything ephpod can do, and a lot more...

Yeah, ephpod was created before there were any options for windows users. Heck it was created before there was such thing as a WiPod. As such, it was the only option out there.
Then came along Xplay, which works very well and is very stable.
Then came along MC9 which is the closest to iTunes in terms of user experience. It even has features that iTunes doesn't have (like more robust smartlist capabilities) and if there is ever an iTunes for Windows, I'll be hard pressed to leave MC9 for iTunes.
Of course there are still features iTunes has the MC9 doesn't, but it's not their fault. It's because Apple has disabled Playcounts and Ratings on the WiPod firmware so they (MC9) can't leverage it (yet).

If you want what iTunes gives you, get MC9. No need to wait, you can have it all now. The only thing you'll be missing it playcount updates and rating updates which Apple has turned off.
IMO, it's more powerful in terms of smartlists and tagging and organization than iTunes.
