Transfer/Message POP-UP

I have just got my ipod transferring and have some questions. When i transfer songs, it normally goes .40-.85 mb/s on the highest setting in ephpod config. And when its transferring songs, sometimes a box pops up saying " Modify Song Info" and this pauses the transfer until i click ok and it continues. Just wantin to know how to turn off that box popin up, and get faster transfer rate since its freakin firewire...btw the firewire card i got was a belkin ( said texas instruments when i installed it ) firewire card, from bestbuy nxt to the ipods.

Thanks for your help,

update:

i just used the sync feature? and it showed me getting 7-9 mb/s. Whats the difference between the syncing and transferring bc the transferring is so slow. Maybe im doing something wrong..to add the songs, im going to add directory and it autotransfers them.

just let me know

Well, there's really no difference between upload and sync. The sync is going faster probably because when you sync, some of the songs are already on the iPod...so it just skips over them giving you a quicker average speed.

What kind of firewire card do you have? That might be it.

Regading the popup message. That happens when your tags are messed up. Use a good tag editing program (www.id3-tagit.de) to fix them. Delete all id3v1 tags and only use id3v2.

i have the belkin firewire card that says perfect for ipods on the front. its supposed to be working good bc ive read some older threads of people having it and loving it. im going to try to move it to another slot and see if it makes a difference. What do you think?

Also, i have installed my pod by using the updater program to restore it, and now it shows up in my computer. However, when i try to run ephpod, a box comes up sayin i need to make the folders on my ipod, so i tell it to and it gives me an could not create ipod_control?

Thx admins/everyone

The could not create ipod control sounds like it could be NT Security.

Check to make sure you have full control of the root of the IPod and all of the subdirectories.

Well, the first thing I would try is to get a new set of drivers from the manufacturers website. You mentioned that the card shows up as a TI card...

The other thing would be to try to copy a large file directly to the ipod using the windows explorer interface instead of an IPod app. If the speed is significantly greater you could try changing the setting in the advanced configuration tab to use the Windows Copy API's.

Still if other people have the unit working fine it seems more likely that the card is misconfigured.

Using the winmsd utility to see if the card is sharing resources or if there is some sort of conflict. Look at the settings available in the device manager to see if some features have been disabled...

im havin hard time finding any drivers on belkins site bc they dont have anythin but manuals for download. and the only thing in device manager that has exclamation point is somethin under

system devices

--Alcatel Class Registry Bus

i do properties and it cannot load some valcacr.vxd and thats why it says that under status

but im not sure if this has anythin to do w. it.

nevermind my last post, i retagged everything..wow took me like 4 hrs 500 songs ;\. but anyway the ipod is working flawlessly, this thing is freakin ausome. the sync speed it flying fast, when i got ephpod working and uninstalled mmjb and that apple stuff it speeded up tremendously.

Thx to all for the help,

Yeah, it's best to keep all MMJB and Apple software off of your computer...it just messes things up.

Regarding the "cannot create ipod_control" error that ephpod throws. If you get that again, just delete the ipod_control folder from you ipod. This will remove all tunes you've got on there, but ephpod will be able to re-create the folder once it's gone.
