Calendar & Segmenting

Just got my 30 GB model. Yup! I am late..... but I was hoping that the iPod would replace the PDA completely in this generation. I lost patience when that did not happen.

I have two issues I wanted to discuss.

1. When using the calendar, the iPod slows down tremendously! I am talking minutes between screen redraws. Anyone else seeing this?
2. I am looking for an easy way to segment large files into smaller chunks before putting them on the iPod to maximize battery life. What apps are people using for this? I would like something that ideally allows batch processing with the length of the chunks specifyable through a parameter entry of some kind.

Thanks,
Sumit

I don't use calendars myself, so I can't help you, but hang in there; someone may have a guess. kainjow does a lot with calendars; maybe he'll see this post and reply?

I had the same trouble... Plus the files synchronized by iSync were empty or corrupted !
I do it manualy now... Just export the calendar you want to use in the iPod folder called calendar !
And it works great this way, the iPod is no more slowed down and the files are correct.
