Volume is pretty low?

I have a 10 GB Macpod, running it on my PC. Syncing for now with ephpod.

When I play my songs on the ipod, it seems that the volume is pretty low. I am at about 7/10s and that is not really loud enough, good listening, but not rockin. If I go to 10, that seems pretty loud, but not REALLY loud like I would expect.

Is this the way it is, or is there some volume settings somewhere to boost it.?
thanks

you can normalize your mp3?s. you can normalize your music collection or just the songs you transfer to the ipod. to do the former you need a programme like mp3gain ( http://www.geocities.com/mp3gain/), to do the latter use ephpod?s built in mp3gain normalizer.

You can also boost the volume in iTunes, which has the advantage of not altering the original file. If you get the info for a song (select it, then type "command-i") and look in the rightmost tab, you'll see a setting for volume. If it's only sertain albums/artists you want to change, then you can select that album or artist in "Browser" mode and batch-change. If you want to change every file, you can select "All" in browser mode and batch-change (but this will take a while if you have a large Library).

as far as i know, no. you?ll have to normalize your mp3?s. if you do it with ephpod, only the mp3?s that are transferred to the ipod are changed (normalized). so it amounts to the same thing more or less. and since they are copied to the ipod, the same songs on your comuter are left unchanged.
