iPod to iTunes how to import playlist
I have 3 gen ipod (30 gigs). iTunes 4 on ibook.
I rip my cds and put them on my ipod. since I don't have enough space on the HD of my ibook I store all my music on the ipod. But... i wanna make a playlist, trasfer it on the ibook burn on a cd and listen on the stereo. I found some programs but they don't work. ipod playlist cloner search for the songs on the ipod then it says that timeout and stop transfer (after only 1 song transferred).
If someone please could help me to find a fast and reliable way to manually transfer playlist from my ipod to the ibook.
thanks jacopo

If you poke around in the Downloads section of the main page of the iPodlounge site, you can find a number of different third party shareware titles that will do pretty much what you're looking for.

I tried some of them.
Ipod playlist cloner works as applescript in itunes 4. but it doesn't work.
Ipod.Itunes. i was afraid to use it because it ask me if i want syncronize my ipod playlists, but i don't want to sync all the playlist. I want to transfer just one playlist at a time.
Some other programs allow you to tranfer songs from the ipod as they were files. It means that you have to look for the song you already choose for your playlist and, once you found them again, put in same order again. It's not really useful. Only if you want to copy albums or autors songs or just songs.
So, maybe iIpod.Itunes program allow you to transfer manually playlist. If someone can help I will appreciate,
Thanks Jacopo

Maybe,
Do you want to just transfer the playlist, or the playlist and the songs?
# 4 Re: iPod to iTunes how to import playlist
I would like to trasfer the playlist and the songs of the playlist that are not on the hard disk of the ibook. It may happen that some of them are on the HD, so to prevent to duplicate them it could be useful transfer only the songs which are not in the iTunes library.
In this way i could have the same playlist (and songs of the playlist) on th ibook ready to be burn on a cd.
thanks

I think iPod.iTunes is the only third-party utility out there that does what you want. UNfortunately, I've never used it, since it costs money.
