Best way to transfer my music library?

What's the best way to transfer my music library from OS9 to a new machine running OSX? I have a lot of MP3 files that have custom tags that I made in iTunes, and a 15GB iPod that's about half full. If I sync my iPod with a new machine will it download the music directly to the new computer?

No, it won't. If you want to use the iPod as the means for transferring the files, you'll have to use a third-party utlity like PodMaster ( http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/12706)
