Can the iPod work on Mac G4 - OS?
I'm a windows user so I know nothing about the G4 OS (or even heard of it before), but I know someone that is interested in my 20 GB iPod and he was wondering if the iPod would work on the Mac G4 OS. Cheers in advance

There is no such thing as the "G4 OS"; "G4" refers to the processor in the Mac (like a "Pentium" is the processor in Wintel machines). Perhaps ask your friend to clarify?

The question was probably meant to be
Will the iPods work with OS 9?
I seem to recall using mine with OS 9, but I moved to OS X not too long afterward. I can't say that tne newer iPod updates or iTunes versions work with OS 9.
G4s work fine with OS X by the way. All G4s in all macs. If it is an early g4 it might help to get a new video card that can take some of the screendraw load off the main processor. I don't think the move from 0S 9 to Jaguar will be quite as much effort as those of us who fiddled about with 10.- and 10.1, but someone who doesn't have any OS X ready apps might wonder why they should bother. If you spend most of your time surfing, this should not be much of a problem. If you spend 90% of your day using Quark Xpress, you may want to wait a month or two, and save up for some new applilcation upgrades.
