freezing, not mounting, folder pop up with exclmation point......
I just recently bought a 2nd gen. 10 gig. iPod on ebay. (it was suposedly in fully working order.) here are the problems that im having:
randomly freezing at any moment,
consistently not loading or mounting on desktop,
whenever I reset it, after the apple sign pops up, a folder comes up with an exclamation point on it.
even after I "reset it back to factory condition" the folder still pops up......
does anyone know of any iPod utilities that could be used to isolate the problems that im having? has anyone else had this same problem?

When you say you're "reseting it back to factory conditions" do you mean you're Restoring it? Using the Apple updater program?
That should resolve the folder icon your getting. Make sure you're using the correct updater program (1.3 for a MiPod, 1.2.6 for a WiPod).

yeah, I have tryed restoring it with the mac 1.3 update. it didnt work.
and I am running this on a G3 700 ibook.

No, I can't as it's mac related. I'm moving this to the Mac iPod problems board, maybe you'll get more hits there...
