New 30gig iPod LOW Battery Life
The Apple specs say 8 hours of music play - anyone else only getting 5 hours??

I am only getting 5 hours of music play time, with NO backlighting and mostly from the same large play list. I have fully drained the battery twice and recharged and still no difference.

How did you test this?Some people have done the test with the new iPods, playing continuously after a full recharge until completely dead and getting in the 6.5-7-5hour range.
I've done this and got about 5.5-6hrs with no bars left. Im guess it would of gotten an extra 30-60mins extra until completely dead.

I've managed to listen the entirer day to my iPod at work without it running out of batteries. it eventually died the evening on the train. I estimate approximately 6 hours listening time.Mosvca at 2007-11-15 16:53:35 >

the 8 houers is only if you are playing songs thats 128 bits the better quality u have on the songs the shortedr the battery life will bekolstad at 2007-11-15 16:54:29 >

i just noticed that i have the same problem on mine and i did a restore and the iPod have been playing for 5.5 houers now on loudest volume and is still going strong.. Try it couldkolstad at 2007-11-15 16:55:28 >
