Erased 18 Gigs - any chance to get them back?

Hi,

after erroneously syncing my iPod with an empty iTunes Library 18 Gigs of MP3 files were lost.

(I don't have a backup, because my old Powerbook has only a 10 Giga drive)

Now month of building up my mp3 archive seem to be down the drain.
Unless anybody knows how to get my 4500 mp3 back...

Thanx for any help which is desperately needed...

If you haven't put anything at all on your iPod since then, you might try using a disk utility program like Norton of Disk Warrior or File Buddy to find deleted files. You'll have to move them to your computer, then re-import them to your iPod, and many of them will be lost permanently, but that's the best hope you've got.

Thanx all,

that's what I am doing right now. Norton does the job. No playlists left of course, but more than 90 percent of the files.
