Downloading to iPod over my network?
My quandry: I have a Powermac downstairs with all my music on it set up on a wireless network. Upstairs (or in other various places) I have an iBook that I really want to attach my iPod to since I really use that more than the Powermac (portability being the main reason). Is there a way to get the songs from my Powermac to my iPod from the iBook? Thanks in advance.

If your iBook can mount your powermac's HD like a server, you should be able to tell iTunes that its music folder is on your powermac.

I can get the HD and Music folder to mount. I can even select it as my music foldeer from iTunes, but none of my music shows up. It still keeps the same material from my present folder. Any ideas?

Well, you have to add the songs to the Library manually. Just go to File:Add to Library and then select the entire folder. And then wait a long time. ;)

i've also played around with this a bit. you can also leave your library on your ibook in case you have songs stored there, and if you uncheck the 'copy files to itunes music folder when adding to library', it'll just add them to the library without actually taking the time to copy them to your ibook, which is much faster. i do this with my imac and a pc laptop with a wifi card which has most of my mp3's.
additionally, if you just want to get the files on your ipod, you can just drag the files from the powermac's music folder onto the ipod icon in itunes, and it will copy them directly...
