two ipods on one ibook
I just got my 5gb ipod but my daughter had a 10gb first. Obviously I don't want all her songs (nor could I have them) on my ipod but when I attached my ipod to the ibook it began to download all her songs. How can I create separate ipod updaters for each of our ipods?

If you're using OS X, you can create different logins for each of you that will maintain your preferences/iTunes libraries/iPod recognition. We do it at my house, and all is well. :)

Could we not run two lots of iTunes on OS 9 with separate playlists, etc?

You mean have 2 copies of iTunes? It wouldn't work; like OS X versions, iTunes in OS 9 as a particular place it keeps its Library file. Both copies of the app would store their Libraries in the same place.

The other option, of course, is to set both iPods to manual updating in iPod Preferences in iTunes. Then, you just drag and drop the songs you want to each iPod.

Eustace, can't you noiminate where to keep the library file?

Jacko, you can't tell it where to keep the Library file, only where it keeps the music. The Library file is always in HardDrive:Documents:iTunes:
