iTuness consolidate library?

Did anyone ever used the "consolidate library" in iTunes? I read it copy all the files in the library in the Music folder of iTunes... but how does it names the files? How does it place them? In which folders?

The consolidate library feature will COPY all song files that are not in the iTunes Music folder into the folder, inside Home Folder > Music > iTunes > iTunes Music. The files will be organized according to Artist and then Album.ZoidbergD at 2007-11-15 16:48:43 >

If you have the "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" option checked in the Advanced preferences, the song file will be renamed using the file's ID3 song name tag. The extenstion will always stay, however.ZoidbergD at 2007-11-15 16:50:47 >
