Browse/Albums
I was wondering...
When I'm browsing by album, some album titles are there several times. But I noticed that it's only at the beginning of the liste, albums starting by a number, or the lettre "A"...
Is there anybody who experienced that and know how to fix it? it's not a big deal, but it's bugging me :D

So in all the world, nobody had this same problem? Nobody have a solution for that?? :(

Check your tags. If you're using MMJB to upload this is probably due to a bug in MMJB that leaves blank spaces after the artist or album name.
Make sure there are no trailing spaces on your tags. Delete the songs from the iPod and reupload.
Or switch programs (Xplay, ephpod, MC9).

I'm using iTunes to rip my CDs...
But I just noticed something this morning... The song order is also messed up in those albums, and all that, in album titles begining with "A", a number or "..." (like in "...And Justice For All"). Those begining by "B" and after are alright...
So those albums titles repeat themself, and the song order is not right. I'm REALLY confused here...

bump! :D

Moving to the iPod Mac>iTunes board as this is platform specific. Might get a better response in the appropriate thread.

Just for the record, if someone get the same problem...
I just changed the title of 2 albums (like "Twenty-Eight" instead of "28"), and everything is back to normal! The album names don't repeat themselves anymore, and the songs order are ok.
Cheers!

So the problem was album names with numbers in the title?
# 8 Re: Browse/Albums
Note absolutly sure, cause i changeg de name of 2 albums. One with a number, and the other starting by "..." - this one was a home made compil, and I entered the track info by hand (i made this CD before I use iTunes, so it was only track 1, track 2... ).
Probably this one was the problem, since the other one was a real CD (the soundtrack of 28 Days Later).

i have albums with numbers in their name and dont have this problem.. sounds like a taging issue since it was cleared by retagging the tracks with a new album.. wonder what happens it the album title is changed back to "28" now that all the tracks are in the same album ?

Well, I changed back the alum title from "Twenty-Eight" to "28", and everything stayed alright. so I guess it was my home made CD with the title beginning by "...".
Well, everything is fixed now! :)

Well, it?s back... I really don?t know why, I just had some more CDs on my iPod, and the album names (still beginning with a number or the letter A (but not all of them)) are still repeating themselves...

ok... firstly an admission... i dont own an ipod... abit odd given this forum but there you go :p
did the problem re-occur when you synced the ipod ? if so how does the process work.. if some tracks are on the ipod but not on the mac will they be copied over to the mac as part of the sync ? what i am thinking is that maybe the ipod has coppied back the tracks with the problem tags... do you have any duplicate tracks in your library for the albums effected ? this would perhaps confirm that idea...
if so you might want to consider retagging the effected albums, deleting the duplicates and then clearing your ipods contents... then resync so only the correctly tags tracks exist on both your ipod and the mac...
if the ipod does not copy over the missing tracks then ignore this... ;)

Well, I manually tranfert my stuff to my iPod, cause I never listen music on my Mac at home, so I don't have any MP3 on it.
When the iPod appear in iTunes, everything is perfect, there's no duplicate. It's only on the iPod itself that the problem occure...
I changes some name tags, and it help a little bit, but the problem stay for some albums (and those were not duplicate before). Kind of hard to explain

If the problem persists, you might consider the possibility that your iPod's database is corrupted. This would be ba dnews for you, because to repair this problem, you'll need to do a firmware restore, which will erase all the songs from your iPod.

Well, before that, I'm gonna live with it for a while I guess. :D
It's not that big of a deal, and i can listen to music. It's just a little bug...
