30gb iPod stopped updating iTunes "Last Played"

Ok, so this isn't like the biggest crisis. My 30gb iPod stopped updating the iTunes "Last Played" information the other day.

I updated the firmware to 2.0.1 long ago, plus the system was always getting the updates. I've reset my iPod but this didn't help.

We typically leave the system it's hooked up to (a G3 iMac, running iTunes 4 and OSX 10.1.5) in sleep mode. I rebooted it several times. I still can't get this thing to update the info.

The iPod appears in iTunes and charges no problemo.

Did I accidently change a setting to stop updating this info? I don't remember seeing one. Sorry if this question has been posted, I couldn't find any answers in the previous postings.

Enjoy the ride,

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I unfortunately don't; my iPod is manually updated and so none of this data ever gets updated for me.

I solved the problem. I thought I should post the resolution in the event someone needs the answer in the future.

The time and date reset back to Jan 2000. My iPod thought today was Jan 8 2000.

So the system was updating the "recently played", it was just too old to show up in iTunes. After correcting the date, and playing a test tune, the pod sync'd the info.

enjoy the ride,
