Deleting from Library without deleting file

I have alot of duplicated tracks in my library, however I want to delete them without losing them from the file where they are stored.

Is there a function on iTunes 4 that is a reverse of 'add to library'?

How can I cull a group of tracks quickly so I do not have to do them one by one?

You can delete a track from the Library by selecting it (or a batch, or, in Browse mode, an Album or Artist) and typing the delete key. iTunes will ask you if you want to move the file to the Trash; choose "No".

When in "Library":

- Pressing "Delete" will remove the track from the "Library", with accompanying alert; then you will be asked if you wish to Trash the track's file.

- Pressing Command-Delete will directly remove the track and ask to Trash the file.

Any other playlist:

- Pressing Delete removes the track from the playlist.

- The script Delete Files (http://www.malcolmadams.com/itunes/scripts/scripts07.shtml#deletefile) will allow you to select a track in a playlist and remove its file.

Didn't know that about "Command-Delete" . That's good to know.
