iTunes sometimes trashes all music on my Win-30G iPod

Hi all,

I have a FAT32 formatted 30G iPod, that i filled with ephPod 2.60 on my windows XP machine.
When I hook it up to my girlfriend's iMac (running osX), and use iTunes 4.01, sometimes all my songs are gone, suddenly. It may be after I add a song from her library to the pod, but I'm not sure when exactly it occurs.
iTunes then shows these missing files with a grey (!)-icon. When I return to my windows machine, and check the hidden music folders, they are really empty, (except for the songs I added with iTunes) so it's not just a matter of iTunes messing up the database or something. The songs are really gone!

Is this a known issue with iTunes and Windows formatted iPods? Or is it an EphPod issue?

Thanks,
Frank

It's probably less iTunes messing with the database and more iTunes not beng able to find it. Some windows iPod usrs experience no troubles with iTunes; others have the problem you describe. If you're already using EphPod, and you want to continue connecting to both a Mac and a PC, I'd suggest reformatting the iPod as a Mac iPod, and using EphoPod to connect to your PC, and then iTunes will work fine with it.
