quick time 6.3 & itunes
as you're probably all aware, Apple released a new version of QT (6.3) a few days ago. i wasn't going to bother upgrading but from a thread i've been following on the apple forums, it would seem that the new version of QT has a better codec for AAC. in a nutshell, whether you're encoding to AAC from iTunes or with QT Pro, this is an essential upgrade.
some people have complained that AAC sounds flat and lacks bass and this issue seems to have been resolved.

EDIT: To insure that all iTunes users see this, I am moving this thread to the iTunes forum. Having read the thread in the Apple Discussion boards that pingin linked to, this upgrade apparently represents a significant improvement in sound quality of AAC encoded files (if any one was not aware, iTunes uses the AAC encoder in QT).
