Nested playlists?

I have finally reformatted my external HD to hold all my MP3s - 40gig in the end. My iPod is only(!) 20GB - it seemed a lot then! I want an iPod playlist so when I sync the iPod all the tunes in there are copied across. However I also want playlists within this. In other words I want my "fast and furious after a sh*tty class" playlist on my iPod, as well as "mellow", "funny" and whatever else I may decide, but all transferred with iTunes set up to synchronise the "Toonz4pod" - or whatever i call it - playlist.

Possible or not?

Yes.

Here's what you do. You set your iPod to update selected playlists only. You have one Master playlist with all the tunes you want in your iPod. Check that one. You also have two playlists which contain songs only in the Master playlist. Check those too. Make sure that when you add songs to those two playlists in iTunes, that you drag and drop files only when the Master playlist is selected.

The quickest way to get an "all songs" playlist is to set up a smart playlist, selecting all songs where the BPM < 999.

I suppose if you have any songs where the BPM is actually set to 999 this wouldn't work, but it works for em.
