Docking with eXo on...

I bought a dock today for my 10GB because in an email i got from lajo, he informed me he is making a dock cover for the docks that will fit an eXo. Although he said that it will be available by the end of the year, I bought the dock now because I was wondering if anyone has found a way to dock it without pulling the botton off? I tried sanding the 30GB cover to fit the eXo'ed iPod, and it worked, it fit, but it was too shallow for the dock plug to reach the port on the iPod. So has anyone found any way to do this?, I hate to have spent the money on it, and have to wait several months before I can use it with my eXo! Thanks,

Rob

P.S: the photo at the bottom shows that without the cover, the eXo'ed iPod fits perfectly, but that #### plug will break over time...making the dock a 40$ paperweight...

Well...I spent about 3 hours sanding down the 30GB COver and i think I have done it. I can get the iPod seated in the dock, but the it makes the beeping sound, then it does nothing...so i obviously have to sand the edges a little more, when I get it done, I am gonna paint it a matte white...

Eh, why not just peel the bottom of the iSkin off?

because who wants to peel off the iskin?!?!
Since I got an iSkin I hardly ever use the dock. I just plug in the cord on the bottom so I don't have to peel it back. But I would LOVE to be able to dock this thing and can't wait till Lajo comes up with this. (And I think I might have been the first to point this out to him a month or 2 ago ;-)

That looks great!
Can you post some pics of the sanded cover?

Whoa, that is very cool. I am excited to see what you can do with this. Maybe I can ship my dock to you + a couple dollars and you could sand and paint my dock? :D

But really, keep us posted on this project!

Nice job Carlin...

It is such a simple piece of molded plastic-- I can't wait 'til Lajo comes out with a full range of color-matched or color-contrasting eXo-fitting dock tops... for about $10.00 each... It shouldn't be too difficult or anything, right? Then again, what do I know. ;)
