Indigo Screen Protector - Pics

I'm one of the test drivers selected for the Indigo Screen Protector. I put it on with my exo, and it looks great. My pod is one of the 'gray backlight' models.

I found that the indigo helps get a nice blue color in the dark, and it takes the edge of the intense brightness. very annoying while driving!

It looks like window tint in daylight, which is pretty cool.

see here for pics (http://www-scf.usc.edu/~sse/indigo/indigo.html)

"My pod is one of the 'gray backlight' models. "

What does that mean?

It means his backlight isn't blue like some of the newer iPods it is more of a whitish grey. I have the same backlight. Hope this doesn't spark another one of those, why isn't my backlight blue threads :p

just a thought. i tried this little experiment. in the dark or a darkened room, the backlight appears more white but in the presence of floresent light, its a deep blue. so maybe all our backlights are the same but the conditions we view them in vary. i also noticed that the angle at which it is viewed can affect the color of the backlight

looks good, especially with the backlight on. How is it to read on an everyday basis with the backlight off? (lbtw, loved the red dot from your camera, makes it look like you're about to be the target of a mob hit:))

lol, yea its a sniper laser, hehe.

not sure if its deep or light, lajo, do you remember which one you sent?

mikey - it's really tough to read it indoors with the backlight off. but, even a little bit of natural light makes it easier to read.

when i first put it on, it seemed like it was making the screen a lot darker, but now i've gotten used to it enough that it doesn't bother me.

does anyone want to see it in (backlight on, indoors, indigo half on, so you can compare?) i'll take another pic if at least 1 wants to see it :)

The indigo is the darkest of the ishade colors but I think one of the coolest

It's amazing how everyone wants cameras with higher pixel resolution thinking it's going to make a better picture but forget fundamental principles like focus!

sirgolf82, thanks for the latest pics, they're great for showing the difference. What about 1 with the display half covered with the backlight off and just 'normal' lighting, ie what one could expect if you used the iPod during the day in your house/home/school/etc?

Thanks

if you're referring to indigo2.jpg, the backlight is on in that case. i find it difficult to see through the indigo indoors without the backlight. but, if its outside in the sun then backlight isn't necessary.

great pics, i got my jamaica, fiji and rose today. They are all light unlike the indigo so even indoors without backlight on its pretty easy to see.

As for with backlight on the jamaica obvously makes the screen more blue, the fiji makes the screen look a real light blue-green
(very cool) And the rose makes the screen look a light purple, since blue-red makes purple. I know everyones backlight is a bit different, some say theirs is more white others more blue. So if yours is more blue remember that the ishade your getting when lit up might not exactly be that color.

Imma buy the yellow so when lit the screen will look green. =)

nice carribian iskinworld. Just wondering why your's looks alot darker than other people's posted pics? Maybe the lighting? Most look more light blue with a hint of green. Or is it just me?

# 23 Re: Indigo Screen Protector - Pics
It looks a little more like indigo light - a purple/blue - jamaica is a topical blue - the color of tropical sea water with a coral white sand background for those that paint a manganese blue mixed with titanium white. It is hard to get your camera to capture that color. On another point Darren your photos are very crisp and clear, you must have had professional training when I photograph something I depend on the camera doing all the work and do not know how to adjust it. I am using a Nikon S700G, Darren can you tell me what to do to make it speak to me like you are able to do with your camera.

Your right, the Caribbean is alot lighter in the flesh than that photos shows.

It was just a quick photo before bed and it is the poor lighting and white balance that affected the pic. I will see if I can do better later today.

This is a bit off topic but i didn't want to start a whole new thread.
Hows the website coming on, Darren?
Any idea of when it will be up?
I'm desperately want an iSkin.
Just easier buying directly from UK supplier rather than Lajo.

The website has moved forward loads and it is amazing. Still not complete but its nearly there and will be live sometime in the next 48 hours.

Anyway, basically when you order from Lajo for the UK you are effectively buying directly from the UK distributor since his orders for the UK automatically are funnelled to me. So buy now through his site or through mine there ain't no difference.

Ps. I don't why my pic of the backlit Caribbean with iShade in the earlier message would not show - tried to fix but it must be shy.

Are there any exo's that look like iskinworld's pic of his carribean in the flesh. The lighting was off and made it look different. Cuz that's an awsome colour.

Update:

I just couldn't use the indigo dark all the time, it was too hard to see it without the backlight. Right now I'm back on the plain old clear protector. Lajo, any chance I can buy a Jamaica off you?
