iSkin orders from Lajo - Customs Duty Costs?

I am wondering if anyone else ran into this situation as well? I ordered from Lajo and had the shipment delivered to here in the US via DHL. Now I receive a Customs Duty Invoice from DHL! They are expecting me to pay a 2.5% tariff for this shipment.

Has anyone else encountered anything as this?

Lajo, is there anything to be done about this?

Thanks,

From my experience it seems custom duty depends on the officier's mood because the value is too low to attract attention and worth the paper work.
More and more of the orders for www.lajo.biz are being funneled to distributors so eventually you will receive your order for a person in the same state or country as you are from.

i have never gotten this and i have bought EX71s from hong kong and an exo from canada so it really does depend on the mood of the customs guy

I gto my 12 cases I ordered from Lajo through customs without getting hit, so I agree it really depends on the customs person who happens to get your package. I hate paying customs though, usually it slows your shipment on top of costing money. In Canada they charge you a $5 processing fee because they have to charge youo PST and GST (sales tax)

That seems odd--maybe I'll have to pay as well. Fortunately, 2.5% of an iSkin is only 75 cents. Pay 'em in pennies to eff with their minds.

PST and GST - here in China none of that exists and the money exchanges hands so smoothly and China is booming.

I got one of those invoices from DHL as well the other day after Lajo sent my exo from Hong-Hong.

I'm getting charged 6.5% plus ?1.25 administration fee.

Kind of annoying but as it's all technically correct what are you gonna do?

Once there is a Canadian online reseller that partners with my site then you will have your case sent from Canada an not from outside of Canada.

When do you think that will be? Soon like week or 2 or a long time like months?

Working on a Canadian online reseller now. I would imagine in about 2 to 3 wks you will be able to do it. Being Canadian I have to offer my best to my fellow Canadians.

Is there going to be any such distributor in the US? If not.. any ideas how the customs work between canada and US? or is it the same no matter where it comes from?

No you can order from thinkdifferentstore.com in New York. If you go to Yahoo and type in eXo iSkin you will get a number of sites that sell eXo cases
