New member, info on cases please.

I have just bought a 15G iPod (and my first Mac!) and what a joy they are!!!

I realise how easy the finish on the ipod can be scratched/damaged, so am looking for a bit of advice.

1. As a newbie to the iPod scene, is there a preferred/recommended choice of iPod case? I have the Apple case but want a bit more protection for the gym.

2. Would the Jam Jacket fit inside the Apple belt clip? And are they any good?

Thanks in advance Ladies and Gents!

The iskin exo is the primarially discused case here, you can get one at www.lajo.biz, the www.thinkdifferentstore.com. They are really great cases, and much better quality then the jam jacket. You also get more for less. The Iskin exo includes a screen protector and a belt clip and a cover case for times of the most protection.

yest the jam jacket would fit in the given apple case, but it might streach it a little. the jam jackets aren't very high quality cases though. But its your 300-400-500$ investment (whichever pod you have), and personally I would think you would want the best case incase of a drop or something.

There's a lot of info in the forums about different cases. There is no one perfect for everything. I have several different ones depending on the need. As for the gym, I find most cases that have a swiveling belt clip unsatisfactory. They simply bounce around too much. Even the apple case has a better clip. I am currently trying out the inCase iPod belt. It's very snug fitting and has room for keys too. If your holding the case in your hand as you work out, the exo's a good case because it's very grippy.

How about one of the cases which feature an arm band - Marware or DLO Action Jacket.
Have a read through the reviews ( http://www.ipodlounge.com/reviews.php) for more detailed info.

i can recommend the PodPaq 014 from booq, but as a lot of people will say, you need to work out what the case is for (ie multipurpose) or have different cases for different situations. at least you'll get pretty honest answers from people here, but as always, lots of opinions : ) good luck wading through them!

A little more expensive, but how do you think it compares?

Im just wondering why the ipods in the vaja case look very grey. Not the slightest bit of white.

By the way i dont think those cases look very good. The Booq and exo look the best i think.

The iPods look white on my screen. The slightly grey areas are behind clear plastic. Only the wheel and buttons are exposed.

Yes the all the buttons look white but the other areas of the ipod look grey. like the area right around where the buttons are. I assume thats just part of the case right??
