FlipStand Issues

Ok...so I've been using my new Speck FlipStand with my 30gb for the last couple of days, and I'm a little disappointed.

As far as protection for the iPod, the case is great, but I have had problems with the access holes at the top and bottom of it.

1. Headphone access: The remote will plug in just fine, but removing it without pulling on the cord is almost impossible.

2. Access to the dock connector: You open the flipstand to gain access to the connector, which is fine, but my Belkin car charger will not fit in the hole. I've spent a lot of time trying, and just can't get a complete connection. I really didn't weant a case that I would have to remove the iPod from everytime I use it in the car (everyday!).

Overall, I think the case is very nice, but I don't think I'm going to be happy with it. I tried sending Speck Products an email about their return policy, and it was sent back to me as undeliverable...hopefully they are just having email problems!!! I'll try again later.

Just my thoughts and concerns, your mileage may vary...

# 1 Re: FlipStand Issues
So I finally modified the flipstand to accept the Belkin car kit. I simply used a metal file to shave about a millimeter off each side of the flipstand cable hole. Unfortunately, I accidently made a 1/2 inch scratch on the back of the flipstand case with the metal file - I know the case is supposed to take the abuse instead of the ipod, but the ipod looks so immaculate in the clear shiny case that I wish i could also keep the case in flawless condition, at least for a while.

If anybody wants a fully functional, slightly scratched Speck flipstand case for $22 including shipping - let me know. If nobody wants it at that price I'll consider other offers. Thanks.
