Marware SportSuit Convertible Review

Ok ok, so I know everyone is super super excited about the iSkin EXO...I mean, who wouldn't be? It does have a lot of neat functions! However, I for one was one of the individuals who decided to go for the Marware Sportsuit Convertible. Well, I just recieved it yesterday, and it does have some ups and downs, but overall will remain a great case.

Lets start with the bad. I have a 30GB iPod, and I am finding a bit hard to put it in and take it out. It seems like I am spending a majority of my time aligning the button imprints in the protector to the actual buttons. However, once it is on, it works like a charm. My other complaint is the top velcro. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but when you are taking your iPod out of the case, the top velcro needs to flip up. The top velcro is the scratchy kind, and when I'm pulling my ipod out, if I don't hold back the velcro, it scratches up my screen! This is definitly not a lot of fun!

And now, onto the good things. I do enjoy itsscreen protection and overall sturdy quality. I took it to a pool party today and no worries about it at all when it was bumping in my pocket, or sitting on an unsturdy table. Every button is reachable and works greatinside of thecase. I love the addition of the top part, as it is the new home of my Sony EX71SL headphones. I also like the multiclip system. I bought a car kit with it, so now my iPod sits in the front dashboard of my car and is within great reach whenever I am driving.

Overall, a case can be an extremely tough choice when it comes down to your new multi-hundred dollar investment. I love my choice and will definitly be sticking to it. I plan to post some pictures in a bit for those curious about its size compared to other things. Hopefully this review was helpful, and if you have any questions, I would be more than happy to answer them!

Your iPod needs to go on a diet.

I also just got a SportSuit Convertible, but I have a 15Gb iPod, which is slightly thinner than the 30Gb model, and I agree with all the positive things said in the review above, but so far I haven't had any trouble getting it to fit nicely. I use Sennheiser MX400 earbuds, which are a little bigger than the EX71s, and they fit fine as well inside the case. It's a really well-thought-out design.

Thanks for taking the time to write up the review and such, but the pics you took are horribly out of focus.

Next time try putting some more light over your subject and if necessary switch the camera into macro mode.

I was a little disappointed with the stiching on the lid and I didn't think much of the armband instructions.
I will say that tech support emailed me a great set of instructions that should be in the instruction pamphlet.
I've already taken a small chunk out of the rubber but I chalk that up to the case doing it's job.

does the case fit comfortably in your pocket while the lid is attached?

only if you have big pockets....

IMO, the convertible was really meant to be used with the belt clip or the armstrap or the other accessories for it. It's not really a pocket type of case.

Well, it is a pocket case without the lid (which is detachable). It does fit nicely in your pocket if u dont have the lid. If you DO have the lid, it is a bit bulky, but it is also carrying all of ur iPod essential items.

Thanks for the review, it is really helpful. I have one more question: is the armband included (the info on their website is not very clear to me)

If it is included, what do you think about it? Is it good for jogging and working out?

Thanks!

Yes the armband is included, however, in my opinion, it was very hard to put on. I know a lot of other people on this board think it was a nice addition, but I probably will not be using it very often. It fits the same as the DLO Action Jacket.

I think the armband is an "ok" addition to jogging and working out. I mean, my playlist is constantly changing, and I really listen to whatever music is on my mind. The armband isn't within easy reach to change tracks, so I doubt I'd be using it that much.

The case sport convertable is really bulky though. Have you found that to be a problem?

With the cover on, yeah, it's a little bulky and you certainly couldn't put it in your pocket (unless you have really big pockets). But I don't usually put it in my pocket anyway so it's not a big deal for me.
